Joseph Morin
President & CEO
Boost Search Marketing
Joseph has been involved with the Internet as a marketing medium since 1998, and co-founded a venture capital funded supply chain software company where he was chartered with an unusual responsibility for that time, how to draw more traffic and qualified leads from the Internet. With a background in investigations and research stemming from a previous life as a corporate private investigator, Joseph diligently set about discovering by research and trial and error how to drive website traffic via search engine optimization. Having had some successes with a few clients, in 2001 Joseph decided to found his own consulting agency - Boost Search Marketing (www.boostranking.com), focusing on search marketing, branding and strategy, business modeling, lead generation, conversion analysis and competitive intelligence.
Specializing in enterprise level search optimization for large scale and international web properties, Joseph now consults with many companies on their search marketing campaigns including Austin Ventures, Autobytel, Inc., Azure Capital, Business.com, Dentist.net, Education.com, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Local.com, MGM Mirage, UsedCars.com and World Publications. He previously worked as the in-house Strategic Marketing Director for Autobytel, Inc., the nation's largest online new car buying service for a two year period and pioneered their search marketing program. The measures that he implemented have to date now generated more than $20MM in profits since the campaign began back in March of 2003 for the online auto retailer.
Joseph also currently works with several top tier venture capital firms conducting ‘search diligence’ where he advises firms on investments in relation to the search industry and analyzes the marketplace for investments in a particular space prior to their investment in a potential future portfolio company. Other relevant experience includes having served as an expert witness in depositions and courtroom testimony in matters involving search engines including a federal jury trial. He is a Moderator of the forums ‘In-House and Corporate SEM’ and 'SEM Related Organizations & Events' at Search Engine Watch Forums.
