DeWitt Clinton is the A9.com software development engineer responsible for leading the search company's OpenSearch feature, a technology that allows third-parties to make their content searchable and the results viewable through their own columns on the A9.com website. Clinton led the launch of OpenSearch technology in March 2005, and has helped drive up the number of content providers to the current total of more than 200.
Clinton has in-depth experience in software architecture, software engineering and software evangelism. Prior to joining A9.com, Clinton held software development and management positions at Travelocity/Sabre and Site59. He was also founder and chief technology officer of Avacet, Inc. and director of technology at Eziba. Clinton began his career as a program manager with Microsoft.
Clinton earned his bachelor's degree in computer and political science from Williams College in Massachusetts.
