Dr. Watlington is a leading voice and sought after speaker in the search engine marketing industry. Not only does Dr. Watlington develop language-based analytic tools that support iProspect’s proprietary search engine marketing processes, she actively conducts primary research into query vocabulary, query behavior and query construction in order to understand "the psychology of search." Dr. Watlington has analyzed the search marketing performance, query behavior and query vocabulary for all of iProspect clients including: American Express, Sharp Electronics, Medtronic, Xerox and Mercedes-Benz.

Dr. Watlington has over 20 years of experience as a communications, Web marketing and business strategy consultant. Dr. Watlington is the author of two books and has written feature articles for over thirty magazines and journals. She also appears regularly as a speaker at Jupiter Media's Search Engine Strategies conferences and DMA/AIM .NetMarketing Conference. Dr. Watlington serves on IAB Search Committee and co-chairs AIM/DMA’s Search Engine Marketing Council. In addition, Watlington develops and instructs advanced coursework on search engine marketing for AIM.

Dr. Watlington holds a Bachelors Degree in Classical Civilization from Douglass College in New Jersey, a Ph.D. in Classics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an M.B.A. in Marketing from Eastern Michigan University. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and has an APR accreditation.
