James E. Pitkow
PHD President (San Francisco)
Jim Pitkow joined Moreover Technologies in May 2002 as President. Most recently, Mr. Pitkow was the President and Chairman of Outride Inc., a spinout from the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center, which was acquired by Google Inc. in September 2001.
Prior to Outride, Mr. Pitkow was a research scientist at Xerox PARC and Chair of the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Characterization Activity. While at PARC, Mr. Pitkow helped create an intellectual property portfolio focused on Web technology that has resulted in nearly three-dozen issued and pending patent applications and has published extensively in leading academic publications including Science.
Mr. Pitkow received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1997, where he helped pioneer the field of online surveying by creating GVU’s WWW User Surveys.
