Javier Etxebeste Managing Director, Search and Marketplace Javier Etxebeste is managing director for Search and Marketplace for Yahoo! Europe, responsible for the strategic development and implementation of Search, Sponsored Matches and Listings across Europe.
Javier joined Yahoo! Iberia as Managing Director in November 1998 to lead the company's strategy and business for both Spain and Portugal, and moved to his current position in January 2003. He maintains his role as CEO for Yahoo! Iberia to oversee business in Spain and Portugal, including marketing services, enterprise solutions and Yahoo! en Catalan.
Before joining Yahoo! Iberia, Javier worked in the consulting industry holding top management positions in companies such as Bain & Company, Gemini Consulting and The Mac Group. From 1998 he worked for Cluster Consulting, leading the development and implementation of international mobile telephony companies in the Netherlands and Portugal.
Prior to this, Javier worked for PepsiCo Restaurants as Financial Director with full responsibility for the expansion of popular brands such as Pizza Hut and KFC in Southern Europe and as Sales Director for the Pepsico beverage division.
Javier Etxebeste is Board Director of the Spanish E-Commerce Association (AECE), Member of the Circulo de Empresarios and a Board Director of Topbrands Spain. Javier has also lectured at the Information Society Commission on the development of the Internet industry in Spain to assist with the draft of the recently passed Information Society Services Bill.
Javier has a Degree in Economics and Business Administration from the ESTE (University of Deusto) and a MBA from Purdue University.
