Entrepreneur Barbara Coll has been involved with product and program marketing in Silicon Valley for 18 years, including marketing positions with Sun Microsystems, Qualix Group (purchased by Veritas) and Ipsilon Networks (purchased by Nokia) and is the founder and CEO of WebMama.com, Inc., a $4M a year search engine marketing company based in Palo Alto, CA.
Prior to moving to California from Canada she obtained her Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Systems -- that is why she can both "walk the walk" and "talk the talk" of California's technological hotbed Silicon Valley. In September of 1996, she founded WebMama.com, Inc. to provide internet marketing services to online businesses and her company's client list includes both B2B and B2C enterprises such as Hewlett-Packard Company, WebEx Communications, Inc., Intuit, Inc., salesforce.com, inc., WeddingChannel.com, HomeGain.com, and Shoes.com, Inc.
Ms. Coll is a recognized expert on search engine marketing (SEM) and is a sought-after presenter for industry conferences. She is on the Advisory Board of Ad-Tech; the premier online marketing conference and an advisor to many valley start-ups. She is a leader in the effort to convince North American-based companies to reach out to the Spanish-speaking marketplace through search engine marketing. Ms. Coll was instrumental in promoting the value of search engine advertising to enterprise software businesses.
Ms. Coll is the founding President and Chairperson of the Board of the Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) and current Board of Director. SEMPO is a non-profit organization formed to increase the awareness and promote the value of Search Engine Marketing worldwide.
