Massimo Burgio is passionately dedicated to search marketing, and an expert on international online business issues. He is a frequent speaker at the Search Engine Strategies Conferences both in Europe and the United States, and a proud active member of the Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO), where he volunteers at the European Working Group, and co-chairs the Global Committee.
The project presented at SES Miami for the "Challenges to target Latino users" panel is the output of a Collaborative Project that benefit of the input of several Sempo members from all over the world, all leading search and search/interactive agencies who shared their deep, hands-on knowledge and experience gained within their respective local search industries. After being presented in Miami, the result of this Sempo Collaborative Project will be published on the Sempo website soon at www.sempo.org.
Massimo has been operating in the Internet and interactive industry since its early steps in Italy, more than 10 years ago. He contributed to the start-up and launch of some of Italy’s biggest Internet consumer portals such as Kataweb, Wind & RAI Net, and operated as Business/Marketing Director for two of Italy’s top creative interactive agencies, Deepend Rome & Xister.
Burgio moved from Rome to San Francisco in 2003 to launch and manage the California branch of Ad Maiora, an Italian search marketing firm. In October 2005 he joined the interactive/search agency Zunch Communications to help launch and lead the agency’s local branch in San Francisco. After resigning in June 2006, Massimo started setting up the biggest network of search/interactive experts with a worldwide reach.
As an education background, Massimo Burgio received a Degree in Marketing Communications from the University of Rome (I) La Sapienza, with further studies at the University of Hertfordshire (Hatfield, UK) and the Universidad de Oviedo (Spain), recently integrated by post-graduate courses on Integrated Marketing Communications within the Berkeley Extension Program (California, USA).
