Avi Rappoport is a consultant and analyst who specializes in web site
and Intranet search engines. Her areas of expertise include search
indexing, web robot spiders, information retrieval, relevance
ranking, metadata, information architecture and user interface. She
has a Master's degree in Library and Information Studies from UC
Berkeley, and spent ten years working in software development,
