Best Selling Author Believes That Investment In Canadian Search Marketing Will Soar As Canada's Internet Industry Come Of Age
Seth Godin Makes It Big In Canada
London, UK - 6 July 2007 - Incisive Media today announced results from this year's Search Engine Strategies Conference and Expo in Toronto. Figures show a significant increase in exhibitors and sponsors at this year's event, with delegate numbers increased by over 10% compared to 2006.
Many discussions this year were related to social networking. It was reported at this year's event that Canada now accounts for 11% of Facebook's global membership. With many of the major search engines now providing Canadian specific services, Google, Yahoo and MSN representatives spoke about their technologies, new features and statistics.
Renowned speaker and best selling author Seth Godin delivered a Keynote speech in which he acknowledged Canada as a formidable market for online business. There is a marked growth in online business in Canada and Seth focussed on the battle between the search engines and businesses that are not playing by the rules - with reference to the practice of SEO.
Godin said:
"I believe that the search engines will win through because they are becoming much better at determining relevance. We will see a tremendous increase in investment in online marketing over the next twelve months in Canada."
