Dynamic Keynote and Exclusive Industry Predictions Kick Off Premier Search Engine Marketing Event
New York, NY - Feburary 28, 2006 - Unprecedented conference traffic and 30% growth in the exhibitor base marked the opening day of Search Engine Strategies Conference & Expo 2006. The opening keynote address by Barry Diller, Chairman & CEO, IAC/InterActiveCorp, and Chairman of Expedia, Inc., and informative sessions from executive heavyweights attracted many of the nation's top executives to the Hilton New York. More than 5,500 attendees will take part in the four-day event, which concludes Thursday.
"The search marketing industry continues to show tremendous momentum and the level of excitement at SES New York is proof," said Tim Weller, Chief Executive of Incisive Media plc. "From the standing-room keynote and well-attended sessions, to the 30% increase in exhibitors, there is no doubt that the industry is thriving."
The enormous happenings in search were all the buzz at the opening day of Search Engine Strategies Conference & Expo 2006. Geoff Ramsey, CEO, eMarketer captivated attendees with shocking statistics and predictions within the search industry. Ramsey noted that search is only at 10% of its potential size and in 2005 $5 billion was spent on search with $10 billion predicted to be spent in 2009. In addition, Ramsey predicts that the three key themes that will drive the future of search are richer video, mobile devices, and smarter personalization.
"The record breaking attendance involves the already large number of search marketers who know and love our conference as well as a significant number of people entirely new to the space," said Danny Sullivan, Search Engine Strategies Conference & Expo organizer and world-renowned search authority. "The sheer number of people give a human face to the stats that declare how search is continuing to grow. SES, as the world's largest gathering of search engine marketers and others involved in the industry, continues to be a hub for many of those in the search marketing community to learn, network and advance their skills."
Search Engine Strategies Conference & Expo 2006 is the industry's most comprehensive forum dedicated to the search engine advertising and marketing sector. Exhibitors include industry giants such as Google, MSN, Yahoo, and Ask.com Event participants praised Search Engine Strategies Conference & Expo for once again providing an informative forum for industry professionals.
