SES Toronto '08: It's Speaker Pitch Time!
The tulips are nearly upon us... aren't they? Search marketers are a little like tulips: perennially colorful, and it takes a lot of them to screw in a lightbulb! Arghh, sorry. Writer's strike and I foolishly outsourced the joke writing. Let's get serious... it's cheaper.
Prospective Toronto speakers, the SES Toronto show is not that far off (June 17-18, 2008) and program planning is well underway. From now until March 31, 2008, we'll be taking new session ideas, as well as proposals for the returning sessions (listed at the very end of the full post... read on).
Of course, many of the best speakers from past years will be returning. In some cases, this means sessions are already planned, and not listed below. If they are listed, when in doubt, send in a pitch.
Thanks in advance for your interest - and now for the rules & regulations part.
- The conference series is increasingly popular, so even if we've talked before, you know me personally, or we've watched the sun come up singing songs by The Proclaimers, we still require you to send your proposal through the SES Speaking Request form. Before you fill it out, study the handy guidelines called SES Speaker Guidelines and Helpful Hints.
- We are now taking pitches for new session ideas. There are only a few sessions open for this, so unless you're really passionate & knowledgeable about something, don't send anything in. If you are, go ahead and submit your idea here.
- The sessions listed below are returning this year. We will contact some returning speakers but not all. If you're interested in speaking on any of these panels, please submit through the form.
- This preliminary pitch window will be open until March 31, 2008. A less nice way of saying this is that it closes March 31!
- The main pitch window for the whole program will be open April 1-15. Stay tuned for this.
- A "final" (open slots) call for speakers may or may not be opened for the first week of May. You should pitch well before this.
We can't accommodate all speakers. Demand for slots far outstrips supply. If you're not selected by April 15 then it's highly likely that the program is full and you'll have to try again for a future show.
The initial program grid will be posted on the SearchEngineStrategies.com/Toronto site in a few days. Please stay tuned.
Thanks!
