SES Awards FAQ

What are the SES Awards?

The SES Awards have been developed by the SES Awards editorial staff to recognize exemplary work in the search engine marketing field. Award winners will be announced throughout the San Jose event during the Orion and keynote panels (see below).

How are the applicants judged?

The SES Awards editorial staff will review all applications and determine finalists. Search Engine Strategies and Search Engine Watch has assembled a panel of over 30 industry experts and practitioners. Once finalists have been determined, our judges panel will score the entries by category to determine winners.

Applications will be judged in four key areas:

Innovation in methodology and execution
Achieving success goals
Excellence in tactical execution
Overall approach and category relevance

What are the award categories?

There are 15 award categories. The categories were developed by the SES Awards editorial staff.

How will I be recognized for my efforts?

Submitting companies will be recognized at the event, as well as in the SES Magazine and on Search Engine Watch. Finalists will be recognized and winners will be announced during the SES San Jose Orion panels and keynote presentations:

Award winners will also be recognized in the SES Awards Showcase on Search Engine Watch.

How will finalists be determined?

Up to four award finalists will be determined for each category. Finalists will be announced August 1, 2008.
SES Awards Judges will then score each finalist to determine winners.

Can I submit for multiple categories?

Multiple submissions will be accepted but entrants are strongly encouraged to customize for each category.
